Snippet from Chance Encounter

The latest book in my Chances of Discipline series, Chance Encounter, was released this past Saturday. It features Angie, who had quite a shocking scene in Surprise Chance, and Kevin. In the snippet below Kevin is finally confronting Angie after some miscommunication about their relationship status, and letting her know exactly how he feels:

He pulled her closer and caged her against the railing so all she could focus on was him, and what he was telling her.
“What do you want?” she asked. He heard a slight tremble in her voice but he didn’t think it was from fear. From the glazed look in her eyes he knew she felt the heat between them. The burning desire that was threatening his control.
“I want you. I want you to be mine. I took the time to get to know you, but now I want to know more. I want it all, every last inch of you.”
She shuddered at his words and her eyes closed while she absorbed what he’d said. Maybe she’d turn him down, or run away in terror at his possessive attitude. If she did he’d deal, but he wasn’t going to pretend to be something he was not. She needed to know what he wanted from her, up front, before they went further. He didn’t want to scare her, but after what happened with his last relationship he wasn’t taking any chances.
He also suspected that Angie needed a man who took charge in her life. Someone to lead her when she needed it, and showed her how much he cared by taking control and providing her security and stability. He hoped he was right, but she was taking an awfully long time to answer. Although he hadn’t really asked her a question.
“Angie, do you want that too? Do you want to be with me?”
If you want to know what happens between Angie and Kevin check out Chance Encounter!

  2. I don't think his possessiveness is exactly driving her away. Great snippet.

  3. I love hearing those words "I want you to be mine." I like that Kevin knows what he wants and isn't afraid to say so.
Angie is taking a long time to answer though. If she doesn't want Kevin, I'll take him :-)
